Spotrepair Friesland

The owner of Spotrepair Friesland was known to me as a sympathetic and friendly man who thinks along in solutions. Unfortunately, this changed completely after a job he did for my girlfriend. He was going to respray a second-hand bumper for her and had given a price for this. We brought the bumper to him and that's when the trouble actually started. He started talking about how much work would be involved in the bumper (the bumper was also damaged, so we could understand that). He then repeatedly indicated that we would also be willing to pay more, since we could imagine that there would be more work involved than normal. He declined this offer several times. Despite that, we still decided to pay an extra 1/3 of the price without obligation. A thank you or token of appreciation was never given for this.. We had previously had good experiences with this company, which is why we did not thoroughly inspect the bumper when we picked it up. When we got home, we noticed that there was quite a bit of color difference and when we placed the bumper, we saw to our horror that it was full of irregularities/dust particles (more than 15 in any case). In addition, the paint on the bottom was simply coming off and there appeared to be no primer underneath. To top it all off, there also appeared to be a whole piece of sealant on the bumper that had simply been sprayed with paint. We then contacted them and indicated that there was too much color difference. My girlfriend then went back and at that time they flatly denied that there was any color difference. It was then agreed that she would take the bumper with her and the gentlemen could absolutely not see any color difference. But they could definitely see color differences on other parts that had been sprayed by others and they started to make a fuss about that (this color difference was almost invisible and a lot less than the bumper). My girlfriend also indicated that there was a large piece of sealant under the paint and then they simply said that this was already there (so even if there was a plaster on the bumper, you would just spray it over?). She also said that the paint on the bottom is just coming loose and that there are several dust particles in the paintwork. This was responded to nonchalantly and a bit of talking around it. We had to just place the bumper and then come back. Then I went with my girlfriend with the car to get a second opinion. We then placed the bumper again and the company we went to agreed with us that the color difference was too big and because of all the irregularities in the paint, they seriously wondered whether this had been done by a professional sprayer. Then we made another appointment with Spotrepair Friesland and confronted them with this second opinion. Eventually we agreed that we would go to the paint mixer ourselves (where he gets his paint from) to have the color examined and to determine which color code should be on it. No sooner said than done. Together with the paint mixer we had come to the conclusion to have alternative 1 sprayed on instead of alternative 0 which is there now. He thought the colour that is there now was not a bad choice, but it could be that the colour would look better with alternative 1. He could not guarantee this, but since the bumper had to be resprayed anyway, this is a good choice. With the proviso that it should then be sprayed out to the adjacent parts for the best result. With this advice we went back on a Friday. It was agreed that he would spray the bumper again with alternative 1 and then spray out to the adjacent parts for a small additional payment. Suddenly he sends a text message the following Monday that he had spoken to the paint mixer and that the story was different, that we should just pick up the bumper and then get half of it back.
